Free and Low-Cost Course Materials for UW Law

H2O is a project from Harvard's Library Innovation Lab launched with the goal of helping law faculty create inexpensive, digital, open source casebooks for their students. And what's even better? You don't have to start from scratch if you don't want to! The H2O platform allows you to take one of the previously created casebooks and adapt it to fit your own needs. Want to use and add to Intisar Rabb's materials for Advanced Legislation: Theories of Statutory Interpretation? Or Lawrence Lessig's Constitutional Law casebook materials? Go for it! All of the materials on the site are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License which gives you the freedom to adapt, remix and share the content.

If so inclined, you are also able to build your own casebooks from scratch. Your casebook can not include the text of cases from the H2O caselaw database and Caselaw Access Project (CAP) database, but you can also link to anything else online (news stories, journal articles in HeinOnline, practice manuals in Bloomberg Law, a folder in OneDrive, etc.).
