Employment Discrimination Law
Employment discrimination laws forbid employers from making decisions about hiring, promotion, job classification, and so on based on employees' race, sex, or membership in another protected category.
Important federal laws include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Most states also have laws about employment discrimination, as do many local governments.
