Information for UW Law students about the services we offer.

Library Equipment

The following equipment is located in the Reference Area, next to the Course Reserve Collection and can be checked out. All equipment is in-building use only and due back before you leave the building.

  • Bookstands
  • Laptop Desk
  • Book carts (Check out from Circ Desk)
  • Fans
  • White Noise Machine 

If you would like to make a request for the library to consider purchasing equipment, please do so via the Virtual Suggestion Box.

Laptop & Charger Kiosks

UW Libraries Borrowers in good standing can check out laptops, laptop chargers and portable chargers with wireless, USB and outlet charging options from our Kiosks located near the Circulation Desk. 

Policies: 

  • Law Students Only: Items are in-building-use-only items and must be returned before you leave the building.
    • These are not intended for use to take exams. As these are used by multiple people, for security reasons, anytime the laptop is shut off/down for any reason, all programs and work will be erased and is not retrievable.
    • For long-term loans and other device borrowing options, please see the Student Technology Loan Program. These are good options for exam taking, if needed.
  • UW Borrowers: Items are library-use-only items and must be returned before you leave the library. 
  • Borrowers can only check out one laptop and one portable charger at a time. 
  • When checking out a device, you agree to all our Terms of Service

Computer Vet is a free service offered to UW students, faculty and staff to assist with software problems on personal computers. Staffed by knowledgeable students, the Computer Vet can provide best-effort assistance with a wide array of technology issues and tasks, including operating system updates, anti-virus installation, P2P software removal, DawgPrint driver installations, and much more. Located on 2nd floor of Odegaard Undergraduate Library.   

Student Technology Loan Program

The Student Technology Loan Program (STLP) lends technology equipment to students. Equipment List includes, laptops, cameras, projectors, video cameras, tablets, audio, peripherals, virtual reality.
