Library Services for Faculty and Staff

The Library is pleased to announce a new personalized current awareness service available to all UW Law Faculty and Staff. This service utilizes RSS feeds to populate a private page that will be tailored to your research interests.

Here are a few examples of the types of RSS feeds that we can integrate into your personalized page:

• Journal articles (either updates for a particular journal’s table of contents through HeinOnline or specific search terms across all articles included in Academic Search Complete or Web of Science (which include both law and non-law journals)
• Newspapers (either individual newspapers and topics (such as the NY Times or the Seattle Times) or specific search terms across all newspapers through Google News or ProQuest's US Newsstream Database)
• Legal (or non-legal) blogs such as SCOTUSblog, The Volokh Conspiracy, or other blawgs
• KeyCite, Docket, or WestClip Alerts through Westlaw
• Federal court filings based on region and/or topic (e.g. copyright cases filed in the Ninth Circuit) through Justia’s Docket service
• Updates from federal agencies (including, for example, EDGAR searches from the SEC or Banking and Consumer Regulatory Policy information from the Federal Reserve)
• Updates from Washington State agencies
• State or Federal bill tracking (either for a specific bill number or by topic (such as “abortion”))
• News and publications from nonprofits
• And much more!

Once your personalized page is created, it will act as a centralized place for you to go to obtain updates in your area(s) of interest and may even allow you to cancel a few of your subscription email alerts and unclutter your inbox. Note that each personalized page will only be accessible to people who have the unique URL and you can share that URL with anyone you'd like (coauthors, student assistants, etc.).
