Artificial Intelligence

This research guide offers resources related to artificial intelligence (AI) and the impact of AI on legal education and the practice of law.

AI-Driven Legal Research

AI is a powerful tool to augment your legal research skills. Legal research tools that use natural language processing, machine learning, and other AI-based technologies allow lawyers to be more efficient and accurate in their legal research by helping sift through large amounts of legal information and identify relevant primary sources.

Westlaw and Lexis, the two dominant players in the legal research marketplace, have raced to embrace AI and integrate the technology into their product offerings. UW Law faculty, staff, and students have access to some of these AI products and services. See below for more information.
