Access to Westlaw, Bloomberg Law & Lexis

Information about accessing these databases

Introduction

Several commercial online legal research databases provide authorized users with individual IDs and passwords. This guide describes how to access to Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and Lexis.

Who can access these databases?

Access to Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and Lexis is restricted to the following:

  • UW Law students, faculty, staff, and librarians;
  • UW Law Librarianship students who are currently interning at the Gallagher Law Library; and
  • UW students who are enrolled in a course that is cross-listed in the School of Law (when the instructor determines that access is necessary).

If you fall under one of the categories listed above and would like to gain access to the databases or are having problems accessing a database, see below for instructions.
