Access Restrictions During the Academic Year

  Policy
Bloomberg Law Full access, including paid internships & externships
Lexis The law community may use their LexisNexis legal education ID only for academic purposes (moot court or law review/law journal, research assistant to a professor (paid or unpaid), unpaid internship, externship, or clinic for school credit for graduation requirement)
Westlaw The law community may use their law school password for academic purposes (classes, law review/journal work, moot court, research assistant positions, unpaid internships, and externships for credit). Accounts may not be used in any commercial context (i.e. if anyone is being billed or charged for the research).
 

Summer Access

  Continuing Students Graduating Students
Bloomberg Law Full access, including summer employment Graduates have access for six months following graduation. If you have been cut off prematurely, please contact lawref@uw.edu to ask for an extension.
Lexis Full access, including summer employment Continued access for six months after graduation. Lexis IDs will stay on and will be switched from a law student account to a graduate account. Access will remain the same with the exception of Public Records (not accessible).
Westlaw May use your law school password for academic purposes (summer classes, law review/journal work, moot court, research assistant positions, unpaid internships, and externships for credit). May not be used in any commercial context (i.e., if anyone is being billed or charged for the research). Continued access for six months after graduation. Grads will start receiving a pop-up message when accessing lawschool.westlaw.com 3 months prior to their stated graduate date. The pop-up will continue to appear until you agree to enter the program (Grad Elite).
